Hello 2015!

2014 was an amazing, busy life-changing year for me! My energetic lovely baby boy doesn't leave me much spare time to "play" with dolls but it's totally worth it.
On the other hand I feel a little bipolar as far as Barbie dolls are concerned. Sometimes I look at them and think " I don't have any time to play with them, why don't I just sell everything?" Other times it's like "well, I'll keep them if I have a baby girl someday" and them "oh my God what am I thinking? I love them how can I get rid of the symbol of my happy childhood?".....you can imagine :S
Anyway, I made some great buys throughout the year that I'll show you as soon as possible. Finally I managed to update my shop, hurray! My wishlist is very diminished and almost non-existent (I do my best to not- keep up with Mattel and Disney releases lol)
So without any photos of mine, I decided to open the new blogging year with a post sharing a different doll. Presenting you...Lottie!

According to the official website "Launched in August 2012, Lottie™ is a new, innovative doll for children aged 3- 9. Short story, this little girl sort of comes to save the innocent children from the impossible to reach body of Barbie dolls. I'm not a strict person in the dolls world. I think many people exaggerate in the influence of dolls in children (they are just dolls...). But I'm not a child anymore so I can feel free to appreciate any dolls I want and I think Lottie is cute. It reminds me of Licca-Chan :) These dolls are of different ethnic origins and already have separate outfits and accessories. When I "met" Lottie there were only girls, but recently they added a boy to the group, called Finn.

I was surprised last November when I saw the girls for sale in Portugal, in El Corte Inglés. We don't get many new dolls in Portugal and even Barbie lacks some presence here. I guess Lottie has a strong presence in Europe (or intends to have) and that's why it's also for sale here.

Hi Vanessa! I think they are more or less the size of Licca-Chan, maybe a little shorter. Probably similar (in tall) to Stacie doll.

I like them too! From what I read, they are 7 1/2 inches tall so the are a little smaller than the new Stacie and about same size as the old one.

Apreciada por muitos coleccionadores, a Sindy teve um percurso bem conturbado! A Sindy é uma boneca inglesa criada nos inícios dos anos 60 pela empresa Pedigree, surgindo como uma rival à Barbie. Cromos das Pastilhas Elásticas :: Stickers from Chewing Gums

Esta imagem é uma das páginas de uma pequena caderneta Barbie, de 1995, cujos cromos saíam em pastilhas elásticas! Porque não voltam a fazer uma destas! Os cromos representavam as Barbies e roupas mais famosas destes dourados anos 90. Ficavam um bocadinho pegajosos de virem agarrados às pastilhas, mas era muito divertido! *** This picture is from a little Barbie sticker album, from 1995, which stickers were available with chewing gums! Why don't they produce this things again? The stickers pictured the most famous Barbies and her fashions from the golden 90's. It tended to be a little sticky, because they came around the chewing gums, but it was so funny!

Another Collection Update

I've been away for awhile but my collection isn't frozen in time. It has grown at a steady, slow pace to keep finances under control and a collection based on good taste and quality instead of just quantity. Anyway I've also been very busy in my professional and personal life so I don't have lots of imagination right now. Here goes the update to my collection (as far as I can remember): My Clara doll was a gift from my friend Patricia, but she came to me nude. Once in a while I got her a nice dress but Patricia surprised me again and she gave me Marzipan's ballerina dress. Clara was very happy and she loves to pose with her new dress. This Haute Côuture gown has been running away from me since it was released, some 19 years ago. It's rare and expensive. Some while ago I bought one from a Spanish woman but she kept the money and never sent the dress. Finally it's in my collection, no more running. Ok this isn't such a great find, but I alw...
